Druids are one of the most versatile classes in the WoW, they can perform any role you want, ranged dps, melee dps, tank, healer… They can do it all, and that is just one of the reasons why they are so popular among the player population. Druids are well represented in both PvE and PvP content of the game and not just because they are good dps, healers or tanks but also because of the utility that they bring to their team, group or raid.

PvE

Feral dps druids are on the other hand very good dps but still you will rarely see more than one per raid and that is if there is no feral tank.

Feral dps or tank also brings the 5% crit buff to the raid, armor reduction on the target with faerie fire and 30% increased bleed damage done to target by using mangle on it which is a part of its dps rotation.

Balance druids have proven to be an extremely powerful dps class after the 4.0.6 patch, and in addition to the amazing dps they produce they also bring buffs to raid, here is a link of a good balance druid spec with appropriate glyphs for it:

PvP
Druids have been very well represented in PvP in all brackets of arena (2v2, 3v3 and 5v5) as well as rated battlegrounds. Dominant spec for druids in PvP at the moment is restoration like it has always been as they are amazing healers that can really shine in combat against other classes.

Mastering a restoration druid is not a easy task, but once you do you will be able to take full advantage of their abilities. Druid can go stealth when they need to run (cat form), charge and stun enemies while having increased hp (bear form), and to top it all they can keep enemies rooted in place and cyclone them. Druids are the most versatile class in the game, they are not easy to master in all of their specs and once you do learn to play them to their fullest you will actually be amazed just how fun and good they are. There is not a single raid group that would not want a druid and most of the top rated teams in 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5 have a druid. If you take a look at the first two world kills of Neffarion Hard mode in 25 man you will notice that both raids had over 15 druids in different spec for that fight, which is considered to be the hardest fight in Cataclysm so far.
