Alchemy has always been an interesting profession in WoW that’s fun to level up providing you with many types of different potions and flasks. Alchemy is considered to be a crafting profession and a skilled alchemist is able to create potions, flasks, elixirs, transmute elements and many other things. Materials needed for alchemy are herbs which are gathered by a herbalist. This automatically makes these two professions a good combination.
As with every other primary profession you will gain a unique bonus. Every skilled alchemist will have higher duration of elixirs and flasks as well as an improved effect, i.e. strength will give you 80 extra strength.

Other professions like Jewlcrafting or Blacksmithing have  a similar bonus that is implemented in your gear thus you will be using it constantly whereas an alchemist gains a bonus only while under the effect of a flask or an elixir. In order to compensate for that difference you will be able to craft a flask that will increase your stats depending on your class and spec when used but it won’t be consumed thus you can always have benefits of your bonus without additional costs. Alchemy is learned from an alchemy trainer located in every major city. Once you have trained it you will want to skill it up to maximum skill. Do so by crafting the following items:

1-60 Minor healing potion (keep them)
60-105 Lesser healing potion
105-110 Elixir of Wisdom
110-135 Healing potion
135-155 Elixir of Defense
Projected materials: 60 Peacebloom, 60 Silverleaf, 95 Briarthorn, 25 Bruiseweed, 20 Wild Steelbloom, 20 Stranglekelp, 5 Mageroyal and 110 Crystal vial.

155-175 Greater Healing potion
175-195 Elixir of Fortitude
195-215 Elixir of Greater Defense
215-240 Superior Healing potion
240-260 Elixir of Greater Agility
260-275 Superior mana potion
275-300 Major healing potion
Projected materials: 20 Liferoot, 20 Kingsblood, 60 Goldthorn, 40 Wild Steelbloom, 75 Sungrass, 25 Khadgar’s Whiskers, 30 Blindweed, 60 Golden sansam, 30 Mountain silversage and 150 Crystal vial.

300-315 Adept’s Elixir
315-325 Unstable mana potion
325-335 Mad Alchemist’s potion
335-340 Super healing potion
340-350 Super mana potion (to learn this potion you will have to travel to Blades edge mountains if you  are horde and to Zangramarsh for alliance players.
350-360 Resurgent healing potion
360-365 Icy mana potion
365-375 Spellpower elixir
Projected materials: 15 Dreamfoil, 40 Felweed, 40 Rageveil, 10 Netherbloom, 20 Dreaming glory, 30 Goldclover, 10 Tiger lily, 10 Talandra’s Rose and 75 Crystal vials.
